Now we are six…..

Now We Are Six – A.A. Milne

When I was one I had just begun
When I was two I was nearly new
When I was three I was hardly me
When I was four I was not much more
When I was five I was just alive
But now I am six, I’m as clever as clever;
So I think I’ll be six now for ever and ever.
My youngest son turned six yesterday. Six!! I can hardly believe it. One of the first few posts on my blog was about him starting playschool which seems like an age ago! We had a birthday celebration for him on Saturday which involved a cinema trip, junk food and bowling and he enjoyed every millisecond of it! We saved the birthday cake until his actual birthday because apparently you can only make a wish on the actual day……Who knew? Got to love the logic of a six year old. 😀
I made the mistake of showing Isaac a pretty  cool looking cake on Pinterest which he then decided was definitely the one for him and after some deliberations and lots of help from twitter (thanks @woodenspoongirl) I decided on a very easy interior filling! This recipe for which you will find here. I replaced the margarine with butter and pressed the finished mix into a springform tin and allowed to cool before decorating with melted chocolate, wafer curls and sweets. Lots of sweets! It went down a treat and I am still the coolest Mam ever. Apparently!! Clever boy. xx

    Belated happy birthday to Issac!! Cake looks amazing. Every time I turn around my boy is a bit taller, a bit broader, a bit more grown up. Time flies. We have to enjoy every minute with them.

      So true!! Years are passing in a blink of an eye. It is only when I look back on pictures that I spot how grown up they getting with each passing year!! Want to hit the pause button!! Thanks for comment. :-)
